Complaint
A listener complained that, on several occasions, the programme had made the false claim that the Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland had instructed ministers not to talk to the media about a serious safeguarding issue which had recently emerged. The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 91福利社鈥檚 editorial standards of accuracy.
Outcome
The claim had been made by the Belfast Telegraph in its lead story that morning, and featured in the programme only during its reviews of the newspapers, at approximately 6.30am and 7.50am. It was not endorsed, but simply reported with proper attribution to the Belfast Telegraph, and there was no breach of the 91福利社鈥檚 standards of accuracy.
