James Button
James is a Welsh BAFTA nominated writer and 91福利社 Comedy Collective director who鈥檚 had a LOT of fun making fun films for fun. An excitable DIY indie filmmaker always seeking to spread silliness. James has spent a decade making short films about goats, aliens and even dog poo... whilst surviving by doing commercials and corporate videography, which has funded both his low-budget filmmaking and comedy characters. The most recent of his 20(!) shorts are The Quackening (about a duck-themed curse), 1 In 5 Sheep (art) and Time鈥檚 Up, I鈥檓 Afraid (a multiverse-hopping therapist). Jane Austen's Period Drama
Film rating: PG-13
Julia Aks and Steve Pinder
Oscar庐-nominated filmmakers Julia Aks and Steve Pinder鈥檚 humour has often been described as 鈥渆asy鈥 and 鈥淚 don鈥檛 get it, it鈥檚 just Casablanca with farts.鈥 The pair met in 2016 when Steve was a film student at USC, directing a Sound of Music parody about climate change, with zombies. He needed an actor who could pull off a kick-ass Julie Andrews impersonation, and Ms. Aks waltzed into his life. In 2019, Julia reached out to Steve with a wild idea: co-direct a Julie Andrews shot-for-shot remake of Ariana Grande鈥檚 hit 7 Rings music video. The parody went viral, and the two began a string of collaborations for Julia鈥檚 YouTube channel, including the sketches Rest In Beauty, You Are My Rock (My Dwayne, My Johnson), and the aforementioned Gasablanca. In 2024, the pair took the leap from sketch to cinema, making their first narrative short film: a satire about menstruation called Jane Austen鈥檚 Period Drama. The film enjoyed a wildly successful film festival run and was nominated for an Academy Award. Julia and Steve live in Los Angeles, where they are developing a feature film version of Jane Austen鈥檚 Period Drama and other irreverent comedies with heart.

Mr. Vapey Man
Hugo Docking
Hugo is a stop motion filmmaker with a penchant for the mischievous and macabre. He uses unsettling imagery, dark humour and unusual materials to create short films that are eerie, theatrical, twisted and bizarre. He writes, directs and produces his own films while also dipping a gnarled toe into animating, puppet-making, post-production, voice-acting and writing self-congratulatory bios in third person. Alongside Henry Blackaller, Hugo is co-founder of Spare Flesh - an independent Bristol-based stop motion and puppetry studio. From humble beginnings toiling away in their mouldy shed, Spare Flesh has now grown to comprise a full creative team and an arsenal of creepy puppets. Their short films have tickled and unsettled many unsuspecting viewers online and at film festivals across the globe with their signature blend of dark comedy, body horror and deranged music.

The Bam and the Bus
Film rating: 15
Butsayunderscore
Starting out as a writer and voice actor back in 2018, Butsay began writing short sketch comedies and commissioning animators to bring them to life. This proved to be an expensive, prolonged passion project, as none of them were ever monetised with a lack of an audience, leading to its inevitable end after a year of throwing money into it. Fast forward to 2022, after learning the ins and outs of video editing for social media as a job, he began posting the animations on TikTok to see if they might work there. The first short, The Bam and the Ball, instantly took off, getting a million views in a week, but quickly the remaining back catalogue was posted which put posting content on hold. After a couple more years video editing full time, he tried animating a script himself, finding that people enjoyed them even though they were a bit rough around the edges. Now creating animations full time, Butsay focuses primarily on producing short, Scottish sketches featuring his main characters 鈥楪azza鈥, the most annoying bam in the world, and 鈥榯he security guard鈥, a man who's eternally tormented by Gazza being a constant nuisance.

Jordan Brothers
Alfie and Marlon Jordan (The Jordan Brothers) have been making films together since a young age. They began by creating live action films but eventually found their home in the realm of animation. Improvised dialogue is at the heart of their animations. They begin with an idea, then take it to the microphones and improvise through it, with each brother voicing different characters. Alfie then animates everything on Photoshop and uploads the film to their YouTube channel. Their process is very raw and 鈥榟ome-made鈥. Their YouTube channel and Instagram have brought them much success, forming a strong following, and collaborating with other YouTube filmmakers. On an episode of their animated series Kyle and Davey they worked with Jarrad Wright, creator of The Big Lez Show, who voiced a character for them. They have also found success in film festivals with their short film, Meanwhile, being screened at Manchester Animation Festival, as well as other shorts screening at Flatpack Festival and Forward Film Festival. Alfie graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a bachelor's degree in Animation while Marlon graduated from De Montfort University with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Concept and Comic Arts. Their passion has always been telling stories and creating interesting characters.
