It works via a complex system of pipes secreted within the fabric beginning on the top of the hood, which take water from the hood drainage area and transfer it to outlets at the bottom of the coat. The water is then harmlessly dispersed at ground level. We should see this Advanced Pipe Technology (APT) available in the next few years, when we can all breathe a sigh of relief and say goodbye to the 'dumb-brella'.
