Kathy's 17 year-old son Keiran suffers from a severe genetic disorder called adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). The film Lorenzo's Oil portrayed a child with the same condition. She explains what it was like to find out that her child has a terminal illness.

Jan Rettig My son died of ALD in May of last year. He was 37. He died 6 months after being diagnosed.
