It can be messy, embarrassing, and cause more than a few regrets, but dying your hair at home is becoming more popular, according to the manufacturers. And it’s not just women getting in on the act. The market for men’s hair dye is growing too. So what are the pleasures and pitfalls of the home dye, and why are men keen to embrace colour out of the salon? To answer these questions, Jenni is joined by hairdressing historian Caroline Cox and Peter Regan – a hair artist in the film industry.
