What types of treatment should be offered?
It’s estimated that around one in ten women will suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding at some time in their life. It’s a condition which can be extremely debilitating and disruptive – forcing a woman to arrange her life around her periods. At the beginning of this year, NICE – the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence – issued guidelines regarding the types treatment which should be offered.Ìý
Jenni talks to Alison Dean about her experience of the condition and to Professor Jenny Higham, who's a Consultant Gynaecologist from Imperial College, London about what can be done.
