Music producer Pete Waterman has paid tribute to singer Pete Burns, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 57.

Pete Burns rose to fame as the lead singer of the band 鈥楧ead or Alive鈥�, who reached number one in the UK with their best known hit 鈥榊ou Spin Me Round鈥� in 1985, produced by Waterman.

Burns had appeared on a number of reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, during which politician George Galloway described him as a 鈥渃ross between Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Parker鈥�.

Waterman said this description was 鈥渂ang on鈥�.

鈥淚 don鈥檛 even think Pete knew who Pete was: I don鈥檛 think he wanted to, he was always looking to do something different, he always wanted to shock,鈥� he told 5 live.
