91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Music Video Festival

The 91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Music Video Festival is the UK's only dedicated music video festival and will showcase the best videos from unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar acts.

Proudly boasting one of the best new music scenes in the country and the largest digital display screen in Europe – Fusion At The Forum – it's no surprise that Norwich has become the natural home for an event now drawing interest from all around the country.

The 91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Music Video Festival is organised by 91¸£ÀûÉç Voices (a media workshop and production unit based at The Forum) and 91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Introducing.

91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Introducing producer Gary Standley said: "There is so much great new music being made in the UK and some outstanding videos to support them.

"The truth is, however, many of the best acts and best videos go unseen and unheard. The 91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Music Video Festival will display the talents of both film-makers and musicians."

Launched the day after Glastonbury ends, this is a festival that reaches out to music fans and beyond. It is a chance for regular gig-goers to visit a summer festival, see loads of the newest and best bands in the dry and at no cost.

Festival organiser Sam Hill said, "Our event also opens up the amazing music being made today to a whole new audience as The Forum is a public building in the centre of Norwich visited by thousands of people every week."

The 91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk Music Video Festival, now in its second year, is a truly national event, taking submissions and welcoming visitors, from all parts of the UK.

91¸£ÀûÉç Norfolk has linked up with the network of local 91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing radio programmes to make sure that videos from the freshest of unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar talent in the country are included.

Notes to Editors

91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing is a multi-platform initiative across 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio 1, 91¸£ÀûÉç 6 Music, 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio 1Xtra, 91¸£ÀûÉç Asian Network, 91¸£ÀûÉç Switch, over 35 91¸£ÀûÉç Local Radio stations and at bbc.co.uk/introducing – all working together to provide an internal network dedicated to showcasing the hottest new talent from across the UK.

91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing launched in June 2007 with its own stage at Glastonbury and is now firmly established at many of the UK's major festivals, including Radio 1's Big Weekend, Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading and Leeds.

Bands and artists can upload their music on the 91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing website – giving them the chance to be played out on 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio and on the 91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing stages at the major festivals.

Since the Uploader launched in Feb 2009, over 21,000 artists have uploaded their music – over a staggering 48,000 tracks. Approximately 9 per cent of artists that have uploaded their tracks have had them played out on 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio.

91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing also offers new artists the chance to record at the Maida Vale, providing them with the invaluable opportunity to gain experience in a first-class studio. All recorded sessions are streamed online and played out across the 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio networks (Radio 1, 1Xtra, Asian Network and 6 Music) and 91¸£ÀûÉç Local Radio.

The site also offers a hub of practical advice and information for new artists wanting to take the next step in the industry. It includes over 100 videos featuring established and upcoming artists, 91¸£ÀûÉç talent, industry experts including agents and managers, publishers and promoters.

By supporting new music, over 500 bands have been showcased on a 91¸£ÀûÉç Introducing festival stage since it began.
