Charity golf event has star appeal

Engelbert Humperdinck is joined by an eclectic team of sporting
celebrities and 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio Leicester personality Charles Dagnall for a
charity golf day on Tuesday 14 August 2007.

Snooker ace Willie Thorne, cricketer Phil De Freitas, former Leicester
City star Steve Walsh and Leicester Tigers' old boy Geordan Murphy are
all teeing off at the Glen Gorse Golf Club in Oadby to raise money for
Radio Leicester's Ruby Rainbow Appeal.

The day promises to put the fun into fundraising, as each one of the
celebrities joins a team of three other players to ensure each foursome
gets its own share of the limelight.

Food and entertainment are promised in the all-day event, while proceeds
from raffles and a silent auction will help boost the coffers during the
special fundraiser.

Charles Dagnall says: "The whole day is based
around fun – anyone taking it too seriously will get buried in the bunker
on the 14th hole!

"It's going to be a busy day with plenty to see and do," he continues.

"It's been made possible by the people at the Glen Gorse Golf Club who
generously donated the use of their beautiful course to us for free.

"Also, many thanks must go to all the celebrities, who are giving up
their valuable time, and all of the sponsors who have made this event
possible."

 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio Leicester is aiming to raise £400,000 (£10,000 for every year
it has been broadcasting) to help build an extension to the Rainbow's
Hospice in Loughborough for teenagers and people in their twenties.
