Shedding Skin - poem by Tony Devlin
|
It's so hard to cast
off
This comforting hatred.
That holds us stoically in position;
Territories marked.
Boundaries defined.
Strong of arm and thick of skull we stand, Never
giving an inch Clinging desperately to past glories
and injustices.
Afraid
To step naked into the world,
And find out who
We really are. |
