Earlier in the year, art lovers in Norfolk were treated to a show by the NSAD degree students. Now it's the turn of the MA students to display their works in an end of course exhibition.

Colin Nicholas is the course leader of MA Fine Art.

"We鈥檝e got more than 30 artists exhibiting in the show. It鈥檚 an extremely broad exhibition, featuring painting, sculpture, photography along with audio and website production.

"During the course, staff and students participate in constructive discussions about creative, ethical, practical and professional issues.

"Inevitably, we all spend a great deal of time investigating contexts to energise our creativity and to become visible in the wider art world," he said.

The work of Emily Cole documents a trip from Norwich to the capital for her exhibit at the NSAD. The inspiration coming from some American photography, the idea of road movies and an epic journey through open landscapes.

"I鈥檝e been on two journeys with a digital camera and take images through the windscreen so they're all images roads that are based against landscapes or cityscapes - but the shots are always directed down the road so you鈥檝e always got that vanishing point on the horizon.

"The series that鈥檚 in my final show is a journey from Norwich to London and back to Norwich on a bus.

"I use fluorescent paints as this is what's used on road markings and road signs - so they are very bright and what I call painterly.

I've done a series through some tunnels on the northern circular as you enter London. They look like night shots as you鈥檙e in a tunnel as you've got these very florescent lights as well.

"The journey is like an internal journey as well, where you鈥檙e seeing the light at the end of a tunnel," Emily explained.

The variety of work produced at the NSAD developed in September 2002 with a ground-breaking new course.

As the only course of its kind in the country, the MA in Animation and Sound Design brought together animators, musicians, puppeteers, cinematographers and web designers to produce a wide range of original work.

From Wallace and Gromit-style model animation to experimental art animation to the latest in 3-D technology, the students have produced creative and professional films. The week-long show at The Forum provides a unique opportunity to see some of the country's brightest young talent.

The end of course show maintains the excellent level of work that has become a signature for the students of the Norwich School of Art and Design.

"I think the course maintains a very high standard," said course leader Colin Nicholas.

"It鈥檚 externally moderated and assessed so students have a guarantee their degree has a parity with any other institution."

As those who love Fine Art can enjoy the work of the MA students at the NSAD, it's a brisk walk up the road to The Forum to see the work of the animation students.

All the pieces exhibited includes work from the following courses at the NSAD:

MA Animation and Sound Design
MA Textile Culture
MA Fine Art
