If you've been fascinated by 91福利社 TWO's Coast programmes, then find out more about a place closer to home on Monday 29 August. Great Yarmouth is the east coast's most popular seaside resort, but if you thought it was just a place for the bucket and spade brigade then prepare to have your opinion changed and join 91福利社 Coast presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff for a day out. As part of the 91福利社 TWO series, there will be a free guided walk around Great Yarmouth which will reveal the town's hidden depths. You'll be able to find out about the town's famous visitors and why it was the world's leading herring port. 91福利社 Look East presenter Julie Reinger will be trading TV for radio during the event when she broadcasts her 91福利社 Radio Norfolk bank holiday special live from the Sea Life Centre Gardens on Marine Parade. Town walks The Great Yarmouth walk, which was created for the programme, will also start from the Sea Life Centre Gardens with each party setting off at 20-minute intervals from 9am until 1pm. Those taking part will get a goodie bag with a pedometer and wristband for discounts at the town's tourist attractions. Blue Badge Heritage Guides will lead the way, but if you can't make the date then you can take part in the walk using your mobile phone for the next year as part of a pioneering project. Great Yarmouth is just one of 12 places in the UK chosen to host a mobile walk.

There are eight Mobile Experience signs on the walk's route which display a telephone number. If the number is dialled from any mobile phone, you can listen to an audio guide narrated by 91福利社 Radio Norfolk's Maggie Secker. The commentary will give details at each stop about its history as well as directions to the next stage. Alternatively, you can download MP3s of the commentary via this website or print off a map of the walk and information about each of the eight stages. Open University project The Open University, which has researched and published articles as part of the Coast series, will host a multimedia display on Britain's changing coastline at the gardens between 9am and 2pm. Visitors can bring old postcards and photos of Norfolk which will then be copied to help build a picture of how the county's coast has evolved. Live music will come from local singer-songwriter Lisa Redford and trio Horses Brawl, while highlights from the Coast series will be shown on the 91福利社 Big Screen. Animated films Animated short films commissioned by this website for the Coast project from Norwich School of Art and Design students will also be screened at the event. More live music from Josh Weller and DJ sets brimming with funky house, garage, drum 'n' bass and hip-hop will come from the 91福利社 Blast teepee tent as part of a nationwide tour. The teepee will give creative and talented youngsters the chance to build and try out ideas. Young musicians, singers, dancers, poets, writers and artists will be able to ask questions to 91福利社 Blast staff who are travelling from London to set up their teepee. Visitors to the tent can present their work on a camera for a showcase which may be broadcast on 91福利社 TWO. To take part in Great Yarmouth's free guided walk on the morning of听 Monday 29 August, 2005 just report to the 91福利社 Coast registration desk in the Sea Life Centre gardens. You will be reserved a place on the first available walk nearest to the time you wish to take the tour. The last guided walk leaves at 1pm.
