New late night weekend schedule for 91福利社 Radio Scotland announced
Roddy Hart joins the Saturday and Sunday line up, with Lynne Hoggan broadcasting Monday to Thursday, and Ashley Storrie covering Fridays
91福利社 Radio Scotland has announced plans for its new weekend late-night schedule with musician and broadcaster Roddy Hart joining the Saturday and Sunday line up in the New Year.
Roddy Hart鈥檚 Mixtape: Side A on Saturdays 10pm-12am and Roddy Hart鈥檚 Mixtape: Side B on Sundays 9pm-11pm will continue 91福利社 Radio Scotland鈥檚 commitment to showcase the best from Scotland鈥檚 music industry and beyond, including unsigned bands. Roddy will continue to present the station鈥檚 live music Quay Sessions format.
Victoria Easton-Riley, head of audio and events says: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted Roddy is increasing his on-air presence with us here at 91福利社 Radio Scotland. Roddy Hart鈥檚 Mixtape: Side A on Saturday nights will deliver the biggest classics and new discoveries perfect for the weekend, while Roddy Hart鈥檚 Mixtape: Side B on Sundays at 9pm gives a platform to the unsigned artists, rarities, and hidden gems he鈥檚 always championed. As a Scottish artist himself, Roddy brings a genuine love for the music he shares, and alongside Quay Sessions, this feels like a natural next step for him, and for our support of Scotland鈥檚 music scene.鈥
Commenting on the new programmes Roddy says: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a real privilege to introduce this new show to Radio Scotland鈥檚 weekend schedule. Over two distinct shows I will be celebrating and championing music from emerging and established artists both within and outside Scotland. I can鈥檛 wait to get started and for listeners to join us on this new exciting chapter.鈥
The new programmes follow the announcement earlier this month of the new late night weekday schedule on Radio Scotland. From the New Year, Up Late with Lynne Hoggan will broadcast Monday to Thursday 10pm-12am while Up Late with Ashley Storrie will lean into the weekend on Friday鈥檚 10pm-12am. Up Late鈥檚 playlist will feature a curated blend of well-known classics from the 1970s to the present day. The music will highlight a strong Scottish influence, showcasing both Scotland鈥檚 most established musicians and its rising talent.

Notes to editors
- These schedule changes move Radio Scotland from the current position of six late night programmes and one repeat to seven individual programmes every week.
鈥 Specialist music remains a cornerstone of 91福利社 Radio Scotland鈥檚 music policy and the new programmes announced today join an impressive range of titles which include Another Country, 91福利社 Introducing in Scotland, Travelling Folk, Take the Floor, Vic Galloway, The Quay Sessions, Piping Sounds, Your Requests, and Classical Now. These programmes sit alongside 91福利社 Scotland鈥檚 commitment to emerging artists including Young Traditional Musician of the Year, Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year, Young Scottish Classical Musician of the Year and 91福利社 Introducing Scottish Act of the Year.
鈥 The existing programmes are ending following a procurement process in which the current independent production companies making those shows did not bid for the work.
鈥 Up Late with Lynne Hoggan and Up Late with Ashley Storrie will be produced by Silent Productions. Roddy Hart鈥檚 Mixtape will be produced by 91福利社 Scotland.
鈥 These changes have been made against a backdrop of the fiercely competitive audio market within which some of the current programmes in the late-night slot achieve less than 2.5% of the market share.
