An unedited interview with Billy Fury is among recordings being released by the 91福利社.

An unedited 20-minute interview in which rock 'n' roll legend Billy Fury describes how his shyness nearly ended his rise to stardom is among a collection of recordings being released by the 91福利社 to celebrate Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008.

Only 90 seconds of the recording was broadcast as part of a 1974 radio documentary. Since then the Fury tape with its outtakes had been gathering dust in the 91福利社's vast archives until researchers recently discovered it.

Jim Sangster from the 91福利社 archive says it's the jewel in the new Merseybeat collection that's now online. It also includes radio interviews and programmes featuring other pop stars such as like Cilla Black, Gerry Marsden and Holly Johnson.
