TGV


The TGV, Train à Grande Vitesse, is France's high speed train and links Paris to Lyon in two hours at a speed of 270 kilometres per hour.

The TGV Sud-Est also links Paris to other towns in the South-East of France and to Geneva in Switzerland. The TGV Atlantique travels down to Spain while the TGV Nord makes Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam only hours away.

The TGV holds the world speed record for passenger trains.
It is owned and run by the . The state-owned company has an impressive record in research and development and in punctuality.

When you travel on the TGV, or any other train, don't forget to date-stamp your ticket in the machine - composter votre billet - before getting on the train. If you don't, you might have to pay a fine to the ticket inspector.
