The experiment called听'Mass Observation'听was carried out by an organisation backed by the Government which aimed to record everyday life in Britain.听 In 2002, 91福利社 Radio Lancashire's Paul O'Gorman looked into the project which aimed to find out about the working classes in Lancashire. In reality, the study was a group of highly educated academics with posh accents who began a survey to try to discover how we lived our lives by asking some pretty inane questions. Victoria Wood's TV drama 'Housewife 49' was based on a Lancashire housewife's 'Mass Observation' diary.
