"This
was my first experience of the Severn Bore so I聮m not in a
position to make any comparisons but I was well impressed!
My
five year old daughter and I found a spot at Minsterworth and waited
for half an hour for the 聯Big Wave聰!
Amazing
It
was just amazing to see it eventually approach 聭around the
corner聮 and was much bigger than I expected, especially after
hearing this week that it might only be rated as a 聭three star聮
rather than the 聭four star聮 initially predicted. So
what was it, 3 or 4?
As
it got nearer, people rushed in front of me so I jumped down to
the next bank below. I soon realised that if I didn聮t climb
back up again I would get soaked.
Despite
the muddy and slippery bank, I made it just in time which meant
that I was too busy to get any close shots!
Four
star
But
I can tell you, I聮ve got a picture of it right there in my
mind! It had to be a 聭four star聮 bore!
My
daughter was a bit disappointed that none of the surfers present
stood up on their board but I think she enjoyed it too!
The
weather was perfect for it, it attracted hundreds and hundreds of
spectators and I can聮t wait for the next big one!
Here
are a couple of photos, not brilliant ones but you can see on the
聭before聮 and 聭after聮 shots, the sudden increase
of the water level.
