Complaint
A viewer complained that an item in this bulletin allowed 鈥渉ighly misleading claims鈥 about electric hire bikes in London (that they were 鈥渆nvironmentally friendly鈥 or 鈥渃濒别补苍鈥) to go uncorrected. The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 91福利社鈥檚 editorial standards of accuracy.
Outcome
The ECU acknowledged that there was a wider debate about emissions resulting from the manufacture of electric bikes, but considered the terms complained of to be duly accurate in an item where the focus was on how they were being used by those living or working in London.
