Game development web 2.0 style

has made tools available to allow people to write their own games for the Xbox 360 games console.

Microsoft hopes that students and hobbyists will use the toolbox, called to write and share games leading to a, 鈥淵ouTube for video games.鈥

Fair play to Microsoft for this move. That鈥檚 proper web 2.0 thinking, letting users generate their own games. That brings dangers of course 鈥 how many people are going to be building games that are accessible? But then, how many games built by professionals are accessible at the moment on the Xbox?

It is more exciting to think of the possibilities, and that some people will be quietly working away on audio games, or switch accessible games. There is an accessible gaming cummunity such as that is sure to be interested in this.

There is obviously an audience for accessible games. However, there isn鈥檛 a great deal of choice out there, especially away from the computer. Maybe with these tools, someone will create an audio version of something like Quake.
