Mani calls on the Jilani鈥檚 to see Imran. Zenab hurries him in, in case there are any more journalists hanging about. Imran ushers Mani upstairs. He鈥檚 brought the newspapers as Imran asked so he can see what鈥檚 being written about him. He鈥檚 shocked by what he reads. The press are making Mickey Reynolds out to be a saint. Mani urges him to tell the police the truth. Before Mani leaves he promises Imran that he鈥檒l be in court for him on Thursday.
Sameer offers to take some time off to be there as well but Imran assures him there鈥檚 no need with Mani coming and Jas has promised to be there too. When Imran brings in the coffee, Sameer is sitting watching a daytime TV chat show. By the time Imran has worked out who鈥檚 done what to who he starts to feel maybe his own problems aren鈥檛 as bad as he thought!
Downstairs, Dr Masud has been checking on Mushtaq. While Zenab is out of earshot Mushtaq tries to find out how Shazia feels about the case. Dr Masud assures him that he and Shazia are on their side. Mushtaq gets another declaration of support from Pervaiz, who phones to tell Mushtaq that he鈥檒l pray for the family. After speaking to Pervaiz Mushtaq decides he ought to call Sameer鈥檚 parents. Zenab is mortified, what must they think? When Mushtaq tells her that they are coming over tomorrow Zenab can鈥檛 take any more and breaks down in tears. She鈥檚 been trying so hard to put on a brave face, writing the New Year鈥檚 cards but what鈥檚 the point? What kind of New Year are they facing now?
